H1, also known as “Centroamericano,” is an F1 hybrid created by crossing the Sarchimor variety with a Sudan Rume variety.
This variety is characterized by its high resistance to coffee leaf rust and high yield, making it attractive to coffee growers. Coffee from H1 is valued for its high quality and fruity flavor profile. With good adaptation to different climatic and soil conditions, H1 is versatile and can be grown in various regions. For these reasons, H1 is gaining popularity among coffee growers and finding its place in the specialty coffee market.

Process

In the natural processing method, only fully ripe cherries are hand-picked based on their sweetness levels measured by Brix. These cherries undergo a preliminary cleaning and sorting process using flotation. The ones that float are separated, while the rest are placed in tanks without removing their skins. They ferment for 24 hours and are then spread out on drying patios.
Every day for 12 to 15 days, from 8 am to 2 pm, the cherries are stirred to ensure they dry evenly. Depending on the weather, they may be piled thicker or spread out thinner. At 2 pm, the coffee is covered with plastic to control temperature and humidity.
As a result of this traditional natural process, this batch of H1 coffee develops a deep, rich sweetness with hints of tropical fruit flavors.

This is a method for those who like to celebrate the brewing process of coffee. You use a special kettle with a long spout and a paper filter. First, you pour a little water over the coffee so that it let off the gas – this is called blooming. Then, slowly pouring in the rest of the water, you let the coffee drip straight into the cup. It’s kind of a drip method for coffee. It gives you complete control over the flavour – from light and floral to strong and pronounced.

Recommended brewing time:

2:45 min + drop time 30/40sec

Preparation:

  1. Prepare: vessel to which you will be brewing coffee  (can be server, jug or a mug)  , scale, paper filter, clever dripper.

  2. Grind 18 g of coffe.

  3. Put paper filter into clever dripper.

  4. Add coffee to clever and add 500ml of 92C water. Start the timer when you start pouring water.

  5. When timer shows 2:45 min put clever on server/jug.

  6. When whole coffee will be released from clever, put it aside and enjoy the coffee.
